Energy Performance Certificates

Terms & Conditions / Privacy Statement
Payment:

  • The agreed fee will be paid in full before or at the time of the Energy Performance Certificate assessment.
  • Corporate customers will be invoiced when the EPC is issued and payment will be required within 7 days of invoice date.

Data Protection Act 1998:

  • Under the Data protection Act we will not pass on your private information to any person or company unless required to do so by law.
  • Your personal information will be stored on a CD for a period of 15 years from the date of issue of your Energy Performance Certificate

Cancellation of Instructions:

  • Should you fail to attend our meeting at the premises or access is denied for any reason then 50% of the full assessment fee will become payable in full and a further fee to re-visit and produce the Energy performance Certificate will become payable.
  • Should you be unable to attend our meeting, we require confirmation by telephone at your earliest opportunity, but within 24hrs to avoid any wasted time & travel.

Health & Safety at Work Act:

  • We will require a safe working environment within and outside of your property at all times during the assessment. Please ensure that no dangerous articles are on display or in a manner that could cause a dangerous situation to the Assessor or to yourselves.
  • Please ensure that any dangerous animals are contained during the assessment.
  • Please ensure that any children at the premises do not interfere with the work or equipment of the Assessor.

Legal Issues:

  • Under our code of conduct, we are not allowed to carry out an assessment when a person under the age of 18 is alone in the premises with the Assessor. Please ensure that a suitable adult is present, unless the premises are empty and a key can be obtained for the assessment.
  • Where a key is obtained from the seller’s representative, please ensure that all personal and valuable items are locked away for safe keeping.

Privacy 
1. Your personal details will be held by Property-Assess in accordance with the data Protection Act (1998) and will be used only for our mailing database and for the production of an EPC as employed by you.
2. We do not pass on your information to any third party or commercial organisations unless required to do so in order to provide the service as instructed by you or required to do so by law. When required to do so, we will ensure that our privacy policy of any such organisations or individuals is compliant with this policy.
3. We respect your privacy completely and all client information is treated as private and confidential, even after the client is no longer a customer
4. A clients contact information may be used for regular emailing's and during any current process for monitoring the compliance and performance of any service provided by Property-Assess. You may unsubscribe from any emailing's at any time you choose.
5. We will provide you with a copy of your personal information on request. These principles apply whether we hold your information on paper or in electronic formats.
6. Our web site may contain links to other sites and organisations that may request information from you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other web sites which link to or from our site
7. This privacy policy may be altered or updated occasionally for the purposes of good practice and legislation. This will be done without prior notice to you.
